About Me

Professor Robert A. Widman joined the faculty of Brooklyn College in September, 1978. He is currently an Associate Professor of Accounting in Brooklyn College's new School of Business. Widman taught at New York University Graduate School of Business (currently the NYU Stern School of Business). Prior to his tenure at Brooklyn College, Widman spent five years with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (currently PriceWaterhouseCoopers.) 

Professor Widman graduated from the Bernard M. Baruch College with a BBA degree in accounting. He received his MBA in finance from Rutgers University Graduate School of Business.

Professor Widman is licensed in the State of New York as a Certified Public Accountant.

He has been published in numerous professional and academic journals including, Tax - The Taxes Magazine, The National Public Accountant, and The Enrolled Agent and has also published review material for the CPA Exam.

Professor Widman teaches in several of Brooklyn College’s graduate programs including:

  • Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts Management
  • Master of Science in Sports Management

He currently teaches financial accounting and taxation.

Bob lives in Jericho, Long Island with his wife Karen. They have four grown children, Sara, David, Michael and Daniel and recently became a new grandfather of little Leah.. Bob’s hobbies include golf and hiking. He enjoys doing crossword puzzles.
